DIRTY FASTING IS BETTER THAN CLEAN FASTING

Consuming anything other than Water, Green Tea, Black Tea and Black Coffee during fasting window is considered as dirty fasting and I do dirty fasting. We all know the effects of caffeine on our nervous system and our digestive system, why would we put such a thing in our body as part of a holistic lifestyle change for a healthier life?

How is it ok to drink concentrated caffeine on an empty stomach? Also no limit is advised for how much coffee one can drink. People could be fasting for 12hrs to 60hrs and drink 1? 2? 3? 👀 Cups of black coffee / black tea? Do they feel their insides burning? Fasting is suppose to help detox our body.. how will caffeine help with that? If not coffee then only green tea is the only other option. 

Caffeine for weightloss is fine. But weightloss is only a short term goal. What use is the weightloss if we end up with bad gut health, bad skin, hypertension, acidity and a caffeine addiction..

Most often I add hot water to a teaspoon of my 'PCOS spices' as I like to call them, Star Anise, Fennel and Cinnamon. The health benefits of these spices are too many to list some of which are increasing insulin sensitivity, estrogen, reducing cholestrol, androgens in females and being anti inflammatory. 

I drink this as my early morning chai when there is still 5hrs to go for my eating window or maybe my mid morning tea, sometimes as my evening tea when I'm just 2-3 hrs into my fasting.

I also steep Coriander seeds/ Cumin/ Giloy /Curry Leaves / Mint Leaves / lemon rind / banana peel in hot water and consume them routinely. I do 20:4 or 22:2 daily and 42hrs weekly and never once faced acidity or constipation or insomnia in last 2 yrs. 

I am of the belief that drinking a herb infused tea or spice steeped tea is a much better alternative. It is still very low in calories like coffee but with much better health benefits. There are so many herbs and spices so we'll never run out of options and never end up with acidity.
