The Husband takes his bike out for a chakkar around the area everyday to keep its battery alive during this WFH time. If you ask me it's more for him and less for the bike. Yesterday he got Raw Tomatoes on his way back.
This is a very simple rasse wali sabji my grandma used to make. The masala paste of this recipe can be used to make other sabji as well with Coccinia, Bitter Gourd and Ladies Finger.
I made simple oil chapatis with only wheat flour and no other additions, just the way my ajji used to make! She used to serve the curry directly onto the plate, the chapatis would get soaked in the gravy, it used to be so yumm!!
🌿 Masala Paste - 1/3 cup Coconut, 1/2tbsp Jeera, 1/2tbsp Mustard seeds, 1/2 cup of dried red chillies (1tbsp Chilli Powder), 4-5 Coriander roots and stems, 1/4 cup Fried Gram.
🌿 Heat 1tbsp of ghee/oil in a pot. Add 1/2tbsp Urad dal- Chana Dal each, 1tsp mustard,1"grated ginger, 1/2" grated turmeric, 2 sprigs of Curry leaves, 1/4tsp hing, 2-3 broken red chillies.
🌿 Add 8-10 medium Raw Tomato diced. Add 1tbsp Jaggery and 1tsp Salt. Cook for 5mins.
🌿 Once the tomatoes soften, add the masala paste and 2cups of water. Let is boil for 2mins and simmer for 10mins.
🌿 Serve hot with Ghee with Rotis or hot rice.
