Raw Papaya Roti


The easiest way to consume Raw Papaya is as a roti. Papaya is a very nutritious vegetable / fruit. it has many health benefits both as a ripened fruit and unripened, when used as a vegetable. I added Radish and Dil Leaves along with the Papaya. You can customise it with just papayas or with carrots or cabbage or Bottle Gourds etc.lots of Green Chillies and Chopped Coriander make the Roti damn delicious.

RAW PAPAYA AND RADISH ROTI

🍎 Mix together 1 cup of grated Unripened Papaya, 1 cup of grated radish and  1 cup of finely chopped Dil leaves. Add 2 tsp of Salt to it and mix thoroughly. Cover and leave it aside for 15 mins. The salt will draw out the water content of papaya and radish and will prevent the dough from getting soggy later.

🍎 After 15-20 minutes, add in 2 tbsp of finely chopped Green Chillies, 1 tbsp finely grated Ginger, 1 tbsp Carrom Seeds (Ajwain), 1tbsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera) and 1/2 tsp powder Asafoetida (Hing)

🍎 Add 2 of Whole Wheat Flour to this vegetable mix. Mix thoroughly. Once all the moisture has been absorbed start adding water 1/4 cup at a time and form a soft dough. Knead for 5 minutes then cover and let the dough rest for 15 mins-30 minutes.

🍎 After a minimum rest time of 15 minutes, you can make Rotis. Approx 10-12 rotis can be made with this dough.

🍎 Serve with Ghee / Butter /  Curd / Pickles /or Dal
